Kingdom Come: Deliverance isn't just a realistic medieval game, it is THE realistic medieval game that go above and beyond in it's presentation.
And because of that.. this game may not be for everyone, their pursuit of realism means there are extremely few fantastical or exaggerated elements that that wows the audience as much as other medieval themed game, but it still grows on me even if I don't like realism to go this far.
While the visual environment looks a little dull with the lack of tall building, dense vegetation, and most buildings made out of wood, but the charm instead lies in how NPC reacts and interacts with the world and player, the devs aimed to simulate a medieval society and they delivered on that; NPC are plenty and busy with activity according to their societal roles, so in a way what makes this game interesting is the people in it instead of the environment.
Imho their liveliness is tuned to the max while customizations is one of the weaker link in the chain, the armor is great but weapons mostly feel the same, only bows and basic arrow are present instead of other common ranged weapons in it's time, and ironic to say... they don't have horse armor... in a game about realistic medieval knights(the game also has slot for horse armor and it's simply unusable).
